I met Libera one evening in her studio. Besides being a publisher, I also pose as a model for photographers who have something to tell through my body. It was supposed to be a meeting to organize a photoshoot and became the beginning of a rich and heartfelt friendship. Both Libera and our friendly interaction were outside the box, and a clear cut appeared immediately: a long silence without apparent explanation. When she reappeared on the relational horizon, she arrived with a diary and showed me pages in which she recounted her intense emotional, psychic, and physical experience that justified and gave meaning to that cut. I understood very little at first but was struck by the power that those illustrations, those comics, exuded. Pure and disruptive power of a despair that cannot despair. Of an existence that cannot fit into pre-established paths, neither of normality nor of madness. Those pages that could not remain in that diary, because their expressive power continuously presses to expand and contaminate, are now reproduced in this volume. As a photographer, despite the experience lived and recounted, she also managed to take photos, analog, with a disposable camera. Those photos, published here together with the comic illustrations, instead of being real testimony of a context, provoke the fundamental question for every authentic intelligence: what is reality?
